Slots: six sub-shelves and the journey of one spin

Slots are the biggest shelf in the lobby, and at first glance every machine seems to spin the same way. Here we show what the tabs tell you and what they leave out, and what happens during a single round, from the moment the stake is taken to the moment it is settled.

Nine tabs on one shelf, from fruit to a purchased bonus round

On Dukat.bet, the Slots item in the top menu opens this shelf, and on 12 October 2026 it was the largest part of the lobby. Nine tabs line the top of the page, in English even on the Hungarian interface: Top Slots, New Games, Hold & Win, Fruits, Books, Jackpot, High RTP, Bonus Buy and Bonus Friendly. Six of them each collect one type of game; we call those sub-shelves.

Who is this shelf for? Players who like to set their own rhythm, with no dealer and no countdown clock. A round takes a few seconds, and you can get up between any two spins. That same convenience is also the trap: far more money gets staked in an hour than at a table.

Not everything on the shelf is what it seems. Two Relax Gaming table games, Blackjack Neo and Roulette Nouveau, also carry the ‘Slots’ label.

So a tab is a signpost, not an expert opinion.

Fact sheet for six sub-shelves, tab by tab

Feature On this shelf Why it matters to you
Fruits Fruit symbols, few lines or a small grid Simple rules, few features, quick to grasp
Books A book symbol that is wild and scatter at once Most of the winnings come from the free spins round
Hold & Win Coins that stay in place during a separate round How long the round lasts depends on the coins that land
Megaways Reel heights shift from spin to spin, so the symbol count varies Lots of small hits, big payouts are rare
Jackpot Meant for jackpot games, but the label is unreliable The studio’s description decides, not the tab
Bonus Buy A bonus round you can buy for a multiple of your stake One click costs many times your stake

Dukat.bet slots – claim the bonus

The two tabs left out call for caution. ‘High RTP’ in practice gathers games with the word ‘Hot’ in their name: you will find Willy's Hot Chillies at 96.00% and Red Hot BBQ at 95.66% there, while Well of Wilds Megaways at 97.71% is missing. The ‘Bonus Friendly’ tab was empty on 12 October 2026.

One or two real games per sub-shelf, with studio data

Fruits and classics. NetEnt’s Fruit Spin runs on a 5×4 grid with 40 lines, and three free spin symbols trigger 5 free spins. According to the studio, its RTP is 96.84%, volatility Medium and hit frequency 25.00%. Red Tiger’s Mega Rise is leaner: 3×3, 5 lines, a rising multiplier bar up to 100×, 96.08%, High, 12.95%. It wears a ‘Jackpot’ label, even though the studio says it has no jackpot.

Books. BGaming’s Book of Kemet (94.94%, Very high) and Novomatic’s Lord of the Ocean follow the same pattern. On Novomatic games the lobby shows a ‘Nodemoplay’ flag: no demo, and no published RTP either. More on the book slots shelf.

Hold & Win. BGaming’s Piggy Bank Hold&Win works with sticky coins and fixed jackpots, yet it never got a ‘Jackpot’ label. Details on the Hold & Win shelf.

Megaways and Jackpot. Red Tiger’s Gods of Troy Megaways runs on a 6×7 grid with 117,649 ways to win, while the ‘Megaways’ label also covers other ways mechanics. BGaming’s Jewel Boom Super Drop offers five fixed jackpots, per the studio; the jackpot games shelf goes through the jackpot types one by one.

Bonus Buy. This tab shows almost only Novomatic titles; Vault Cracker Megaways, for one, is not on it.

One spin in six beats, from stake deduction to credit

  1. You set the stake. The amount at the bottom of the screen is the total stake, and that is what the game deducts each round.
  2. You press the button. The stake leaves your balance at once, before the reels even move.
  3. The generator decides. The random number generator (RNG) picks where the symbols stop at the instant you press. It knows nothing about earlier rounds.
  4. The animation plays it out. The spinning and the sound only show a result that is already fixed; the turbo button does not change that.
  5. The game evaluates. It checks the lines or ways and calculates the win as a multiple of the stake using the paytable.
  6. It settles. The win goes to your balance; if a bonus trigger was also on screen, the feature starts from this same round. After a dropped connection, the game history shows what became of the round.

The six beats are the same on every sub-shelf.

Fruit Spin and Mega Rise at ten cents, over 150 rounds

Worked example with invented values – independent of Dukat.bet:

You play 150 rounds on each game at 0.10 EUR a spin. Using the studios’ figures: how much is staked, what is the theoretical average loss, how many rounds produce a hit, and where is the ceiling?

Solution. Turnover on both games is 150 × 0.10 = 15 EUR.

  • Fruit Spin: theoretical loss 15 × (1 − 0.9684) ≈ 0.47 EUR; hits expected in about 150 × 0.25 ≈ 37–38 rounds; ceiling 500 × 0.10 = 50 EUR.
  • Mega Rise: theoretical loss 15 × (1 − 0.9608) ≈ 0.59 EUR; hits in roughly 150 × 0.1295 ≈ 19 rounds; ceiling 6,375 × 0.10 = 637.50 EUR.

The average loss barely differs; the experience differs a lot. Fruit Spin hands back small amounts more often, while Mega Rise stays quiet for longer but can climb higher. On top of that, some hits are smaller than the stake.

Over 150 spins the real outcome can land far from the average in either direction; variance is covered in the risk levels lesson.

The shelf’s own offer and two sentences from the rules

The welcome offer is named after this shelf: Slots Bonus – 500% up to 3,000 EUR + 15% Cashback. That is advertising copy; the exact conditions are set out on the bonus page.

Under point 2.14 of the bonus rules, slots count 100% towards wagering, but point 2.15 removes a long exclusion list and ‘all Jackpot slots’ from that. Whether the label or the mechanic is the yardstick is not public, so Jewel Boom Super Drop, which carries the ‘Jackpot’ label, probably does not count. With a bonus active, always check the exclusion list.

Four glances at the info panel before you start the reels

  • Features from the description: what the studio says about the game, and whether it has a jackpot or a buyable bonus – the tab is only a hint.
  • RTP and volatility: the info panel value counts, not the ‘High RTP’ tab. Novomatic games have no published RTP.
  • Stake and budget: how many rounds your budget can take at the stake you have set.
  • Demo and bonus: according to the lobby, non-Novomatic games appear to be available in demo too; with a bonus, make sure the game is not on the exclusion list.

For your next shelf we suggest special features: that is where you find out what goes on inside free spins, multipliers and purchased rounds.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Piggy Bank Hold&Win have no ‘Jackpot’ label when it has a jackpot?
Lobby labels do not consistently follow the studio’s description. BGaming lists Mini, Minor, Major, Grand and Royal levels for Piggy Bank Hold&Win, yet the label is missing, while Mega Rise, which has no jackpot, does carry it.
Which tab should I use to find a high-return slot?
None of them. The ‘High RTP’ tab gathers games with ‘Hot’ in their name; it does not filter by RTP. Open the info panel of the slot you are eyeing and read the figure the studio publishes.
Does turbo or quick stop affect the result?
No. The result is decided when you press the button; turbo only shortens the animation. What it does change is that more money gets staked in the same amount of time.
Why can’t I try Lord of the Ocean in demo mode?
The lobby shows a ‘Nodemoplay’ flag on every Novomatic game, meaning these machines only start with real money. If you want to practise, pick a book slot from another studio, such as Book of Kemet.
Why does the game say I won when my balance went down?
Because a hit can be smaller than the stake. If you bet 1 EUR and 0.30 EUR comes back, the round shows as a win, yet your budget has shrunk by 0.70 EUR. Watch the balance, not the flashing message.
