An entry ticket, not an investment
Every casino game costs money, and that stays true even when an evening ends in profit. The theoretical payout rate of slots and table games stays below 100%, and the gap is the house edge. What that means in numbers is shown in the lesson on payout percentage.
Treat it the way you treat a cinema ticket: you pay for an experience whose final cost you do not know in advance. Anyone who expects gambling to bring income, settle debts or ‘win back’ a bad week is asking it for something it cannot give.
The outcome of each round is random. No time of day, machine or stake sequence changes that.
Three numbers to write down before the lobby
The worst decisions are made mid-game, once the reels are already spinning. So fix your boundaries beforehand – on a slip of paper or in a phone note:
- Amount: what you set aside for this session, money you can do without and still pay the bills and rent at month end.
- Time: the exact hour you log out. An alarm is worth more than good intentions.
- Break: how many days pass before the next session.
Worked example with invented values – independent of Dukat.bet: 6,000 HUF a week goes on entertainment, split over two sessions. Each session gets 3,000 HUF and 45 minutes. If the 3,000 HUF is gone by minute 20, the session ends there; the remaining 25 minutes are not for a new deposit.
For account-level tools (deposit and loss limits, breaks, self-exclusion), look in your Dukat.bet account settings to see what is available.
Three lessons on the Safety shelf
Three more detailed lessons build on this short page:
- The limits toolkit goes through the types of limits and shows how to work out a monthly budget.
- The session habits lesson covers breaks, the ‘one more round’ trap and keeping a log.
- The getting help lesson offers self-check questions and shows who you can turn to where you live.
Five situations when you open nothing today
- you are tired and just want to ‘unwind’ a little;
- you are upset, or have just argued with someone;
- you have been drinking;
- you want to win back what you lost last time;
- the money you would play with is borrowed or meant for something else.
If any of these is true, there is no play that day.
This is not strictness but plain self-protection – these are the situations in which it is easiest to break your own limits.
No shelf for anyone under eighteen
Gambling is for adults only, and our portal is written for adult readers as well. If the family shares your computer or phone, create a separate browser profile for yourself, log out after every session and put a screen lock on the device.
When it cannot wait
If you or someone near you is at acute risk, or you fear you could hurt yourself, dial 112 at once – it is free and takes calls day and night.
If it is not acute but you sense gambling has become more than you want, talk to someone today: a person close to you or your family doctor. You do not have to work out the next step alone.
